International Women’s Day Anthology

I am so thrilled to be included in this beautiful anthology put together to celebrate International Women’s Day 2022. when I saw the call for submissions, I knew I had the perfect piece “I Woman” I wrote a few years ago. I hope you enjoy this piece and remember that all people are complicated, deep and full of contradictions.

I, Woman

I, woman, have talent and tenacity.

Though you may see me as a pretty face

Though you may doubt my intelligence

Though you may say I am good, for a woman.

I am more than your assumptions

More than a wife, a mother, a daughter.

More complex than a Madonna or a Whore

I am a whole person who lives for myself.
